I planned on keeping it as I was blown away with the results (and kinda proud of myself) but I have too many guitars piling up! Oh yea, it does come with the original Trem bar- just not pictured. It's set up and strung with a new set of Elixir 9's. The finish is the real show stopper - but it's not just the finish that makes this guitar jump, it plays great: straight neck, low action, no fret buzz, polished frets, conditioned fret board.and the pickups are fantastic. The pictures tell the whole story on this guitar. This guitar is stunning.Īs mentioned, the guitar is all original, and still shows some minor signs of use and age, but it all cleaned up very well. After a ton of work, I got to as close as new as I could (without replacing anything), and sure enough, the finish under that mess turned out to be really, really something! I’m glad I didn’t strip it down. It sure looked like this may have an absolutely amazing top on it.Įventually, I decided that I was going to bring this guitar back to as new as possible. But there wasn't really anything I couldn't deal with. And much of the hardware had a bit of rust here and there, and just general wear from use, age and the elements. Look at the side of the fret board and you can see "player's" discoloration - which is a testament to how great these guitars are- they get played!). The guitar is in perfect structural condition, but when I got it, the finish was covered in buckle rash, scratches and pick marks (Look at the picture of the back of the guitar, black shows everything! The cavity covers reflect the amount of scratches I was dealing with).
The Japan made Jacksons are just fantastic (some say rival the USA made ones), and this one is no different. I picked up this all original, 2006 Jackson, Japan made DK2 for a project recently.
